Most film cameras and cameras have a tripod mount in the form of a screw thread. A common accessory on and off the camera from the tripod (for example when using different cameras) is often quite time-consuming. Especially at high focal length lenses, which can weigh several kilograms, mounting and unscrewing is very complicated. This problem can be circumvented by the use of the quick release plate. This plate is bolted to the housing or camera lens clamps, and then connected by a simple-to-handle locking mechanism on the tripod.
